  • New Yorkers, I'm Impressed

    New Yorkers, I'm Impressed

Hello. So, I know I haven't exactly finished filling y'all in on the full merriment of frolicking Jersey shore from my previous entry, but "Frolicking Jersey Shore Part 2" is coming soon, I promise. :) I'm still in the process of developin' & editin'. Besides, I thought you guys might want a break from Jersey shore. So, let me take you around New York instead. :D
I have lost control and taken WAY too many pictures (as usual.) Therefore, I apologize, but once again, you will have to wait a short while before I show you my complete journey to New York. :P
Okay, so I went to New York City during the Memorial weekend break and it was so freaking hot. I just kind of wandered around and took pictures of whatever looked cool. I was hoping that I'd somehow stumble upon Times Square, but that didn't happen. Anyhow, anyone who's ever been to NYC knows how excruciatingly hard it is to find a parking space; I ended up walking the whole day in fancy uncomfortable flats (bad choice on my part.) The heat + 23451324357623456 miles on foot + cars honking at you every 5 seconds = gloomy Sunny (HA. That's an oxymoron.)
Basically, I've learned 2 life lessons from this experience:
    1. Never wear tight ballet flats when going to NYC.
    2. New Yorkers must have amazingly fantastic stamina (both physically and mentally. Goodness, just navigating across streets with a dozen cars trying to run you over is enough mental exercise for a whole year.) I'm impressed.
Anyway, enough blabber. On to the pictures!

^ What a model-like pose done by the lovely lady on the right! She didn't even know I was taking a picture...

^ Why do I have so many pictures of a guy playing a trumpet? Because NYC without street performers is like me without a camera.

That's all for now. Be sure to stay tuned for Part 2 of this entry and for Part 2 of "Frolicking Jersey Shore!" These are only preludes to the real, legitimate stuff coming up. :)
  • Frolicking Jersey Shore

    Frolicking Jersey Shore

Today, I frolicked around the wonderful "Joisey" shore. After stopping at the shore, my family and I went to go frolick and wander some more at other random spots around the northern New Jersey sea shore. I took way too many wonderful pictures to share in a single blog post, though, so I guess you'll have to check back later for the full merriment. :) But for now though, I shall show you the REAL Jersey shore; it's not at all like that silly reality show!

My mom doesn't understand why I keep taking "random" pictures like these, but seriously, where else would you be able to find such good symmetry?! The frame-in-frame effect is cool as well:

Here's another photo that my mom thinks is "useless" and "a waste of camera space." Psh, whatever; I wanted to practice grid composition and besides, the shadows and the obvious contrast made it look artistic. Don't you agree?

  • Life is a Garden

    Life is a Garden

    I am a flower

And the world is my garden

Sometimes I get drenched in the sky's showers

    But because of the rain,

I know that I will grow and harden

I will rise above the rest

And do what I do best...

    Being a survivor.

    I am a flower

    And the world?

    It's one big, beautiful garden...

  • Ironically Nostalgic

    Ironically Nostalgic

Hi, welcome to my photoblog! This website just launched, so I'm supposed to feel excited and talk about what's to come, right? But ironically, I feel extremely nostalgic. Perhaps it's because this blog is digging up old memories of all the websites I owned as a kid. Looking back, they were all incredibly pathetic, filled with sparkles and other nonsensical stuff. My first websites were called "PearlLulu" and "SunnyChic." Honestly now, who names their website that? Okay, maybe SunnyChic would be an okay name for a fashion blog or an online store or something, but still, very juvenile. (Not that I've gotten any more mature now.)
Anyway, I decided to put my nostalgic feelings to good use by taking some nostalgia-filled photographs with my Canon EOS Rebel T3i.

That is the abandoned birdhouse hanging on a lonesome tree in front of our house. My bedroom window faces it, so I'll often just stare at it when I'm bored, wondering why the previous owner of the house left it there to rust alone. My eyes follow the birdhouse swaying in the wind. Back and forth, back and forth... like my childhood slowly ticking by...

So, now that I've (hopefully) triggered your nostalgia a bit, what do you miss about the past? If you could go back and change anything, what would you change?
  • Inquiries From Curious Minds

    Inquiries From Curious Minds

Q: What camera do you use?
    A: Canon EOS Rebel T3i

Q: What kind of photographs do you like to take the best, and why?
A: Definitely still life. Firstly, they can portray so many different concepts and ideas. Secondly, I think it's a majestic and magical thing to be able to give life to inanimate objects through a camera lens.

Q: What kind of photographs do you find most interesting to look at, and why?
A: Conceptual. It's always interesting to be able to analyze a photo and dig up a deeper meaning behind it.

Q: Do you have any other camera favorites besides the one you use?
A: Sure do! My current dream camera is the Nikon 1 J1. I'm more of a Canon person than a Nikon person, but I tried this Nikon camera out at Target and I wanted it instantly. It's so easy to use and SO fashionable! Another one of my favorites is the Canon 350D SLR camera. Yeah, yeah, it's outdated and blah-biddy-blah-blah, but I still like it anyway. I want to collect some older cameras, too; I really want a vintage Polaroid camera. I'm also currently trying to make my own old-fashioned SLR camera.

Q: What/who made you want to start your blog?
A: Well, there's a long story as to how I entered the internet world, but Ann He's photography is what inspired me to start my own photo blog.

Do you have a question that's not yet answered? Please ask me by commenting below... don't be shy! :)
