  • San Diego: A Guest Post From My Mom

San Diego: A Guest Post From My Mom

Hey, everyone! You are currently speaking to Sunny. :) So, I am leaving for Boston tomorrow first thing in the morning. I had meant to write several blog posts so that I can just post those pre-written ones while I'm away. Unfortunately, with the hectic-ness of packing and whatnot, I did not get to those. I'll be at Harvard University for debate for 27 days. I hope I'll have time to blog but if I don't, please understand! I will try my best, though, don't worry! :D Anywho, here is my first ever guest post and it is by... *drumroll please*
    MY MOM!
What a surprise, right? LOL... My mom took the photos in this blog entry herself with our really bad, really old camera (not the one I usually use.) I edited the pics for her, but the editing is pretty low-key this time, since she's not fond of photographs that are too "pigmented." Here's her post:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, everyone. This is Sunny's mother. I am not a person who likes to write "blogs," but since my daughter requested, I guess I will do it for her. The things mothers are willing to do for their daughters...
Sunny told me to write about myself. Well, I have 2 kids, a son and a daughter (Sunny.) I was born in China, but currently reside in the U.S.
Recently, I went on a business trip to San Diego. It's a great city, I love it so much. It's not as crowded as I had previously thought, it has just the right amount of people. The weather is wonderful, seems to be comfortable year-round. Maybe when I retire, I can live in a city as beautiful as San Diego.

^ There are palm trees everywhere in SD, I really did not expect to see so many! When I was in San Diego, I hardly saw any normal trees. These palm trees are very refreshing, really is a change of environment from the east coast.

^ That's a picture of my hotel. It's lovely, with many palm trees surrounding it.

^ I thought those were windchimes, but they weren't. I was disappointed, they don't move.

^ So many boats! I saw that a lot were for cruises. Our family has yet to go on a cruise, but going on a cruise seems like so much fun! Would be great to go on a cruise one day with my family.

^ The historic place is my favorite. There were so many delicious foods, and so many foods from different cultures. I got to eat Greek food for the first time... yummy :-)

^ Those flowers were real!! Can you believe it?

That's all. Thank you for reading and allowing me to share my business trip. Maybe Sunny can come with me next time I go, since she was so jealous of all my beautiful pictures. (Thanks to my daughter for editing my photos!) Hope you enjoyed it, sorry if I have bad grammar here and there. English is not my native language. It's more about the pictures, not the words!! Don't expect many more entries from me :-P At least "blogging" makes me a little cooler on the mom scale, right?
  • Oh, New York

    Oh, New York

Long time no talk! How is everyone? Sorry I haven't blogged in so long; I had finals to pass, graduations to attend, and all that good end-of-the-school-year stuff to take care of :) I'm finally done with final exams, though! (YAY) and today is my first day of summer vacation. I am beyond happy to finally leave freshman year of high school behind me! Anyways, I'm here to share more photos from my (sort of) recent trip to New York:

^ I am still quite perplexed by how they can squeeze SO MANY apartments into that one building... :?

^ One of my favorite shots, with 100% NO EDIT! :D

    Hope you enjoyed my pics!
Just a heads up- I will be at Harvard University for debate for all of July, so I will not be able to blog much. Would you prefer to read guest blog posts, or would you rather have pre-written entries by me? Thoughts, suggestions?
Hope y'all are having a magical summer!
  • New Jersey is Old

    New Jersey is Old

Hi! I'm continuing my "Frolicking Jersey Shore" adventures from a few entries ago, so technically, this is "Frolicking Jersey Shore Part 2." It's not literally THE Jersey Shore though, it's just a few old, historic sites near the north-eastern New Jersey shoreline; therefore, I thought the title "Frolicking Jersey Shore Part 2" would be very unfitting. Anyway, New Jersey is truly a beautiful, beautiful state. Sure, it has extremely bad roads (one of my friends even got a concussion on the school bus because of the bumpy roads,) and it's known for its history of "corrupt" politicians, but whether those politicians are still corrupt or not does not hold them back from keeping the state looking beautiful. New Jersey is known as "The Garden State," and it's not hard to see why. Even some of the historic sites I visited sported gorgeous flora and fauna:

    Vintage, vintage and more vintage!!

^ It's hard to believe that this was once a wealthy farm...

^ This is perhaps the most frightening photo I have ever taken. I don't know how the picture did not turn out to be blurry because my hands were shaking like crazy. I have a deathly fear of these creatures.

I hope you liked my vintage version of Jersey shore and New Jersey in general! :) It's sad to see what the media has done to our gorgeous Jersey shore...
