I hope you all are doing well, and I hope you were all safe from Hurricane Sandy. Sandy hit us pretty badly- our region was the most badly damaged place in NJ. Thankfully, I stayed safe, but I had no power or internet for approximately 7 days straight-- and I was actually one of the lucky ones! Several of my friends and teachers had no power for nearly 14 days! (We had no school for 2 weeks straight.) Some of the students and teachers even lost their homes to Sandy. :( We're all doing what we can to help though; I'm currently holding a book drive.
Anyway, I'm telling you all this for 2 reasons- 1. Sandy is the reason why I haven't been able to blog in over a month & 2. Please, please, please do what you can to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I see people struggling with the aftermath of Sandy every single day, in neighborhoods all around me and it absolutely breaks my heart. If you could just take a few seconds out of your day to donate a few dollars, a warm blanket, or a shirt you don't wear anymore to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, I and all who were affected by the hurricane would greatly appreciate it... To those nice people who are helping the victims of Sandy in any way, these infrared photos are dedicated to YOU. Please enjoy :)
Oh, also, I just wanted to say that I've recently discovered Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and it is literally the best photo-editing software ever made. I suggest everyone to try out Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop CS6-- Those are the softwares I use to edit! :)

I've seen all of the media coverage of Sandy and it's so awful. I really feel and pray for all of those that have been affected by the storm. I'm glad to hear that you and your family are safe and I pray that the recovery goes as smoothly as it can!
ReplyDeleteAhh I'm so glad that you are safe & sound & that Sandy didn't affect you too badly. It was such a tragedy & on top of that, so many shootings have occurred within this month. I hope FEMA can really aid the families in need of assistance due to Sandy. :|
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are absolutely fantastic! I have Lightroom, but I hardly know how to use it, so I stick with Photoshop ahahaha. Maybe you should create some tutorials for noobs like me.

I hope you are doing better now that it's been a couple more weeks. I have not heard much about Sandy relief lately because it's not a "hot" news topic now that it's a month after the storm, but I'm sure there are still people struggling and I hope they will get back on their feet soon. :/

ReplyDeleteI must say, you are so correct - Lightroom is the BEST photo editing software. It is like an easier version of Aperture for Mac and a good complement for Photoshop.

Your pictures are so beautiful! The cherry blossom looks so pretty :) For work experience I had to use lightroom to edit some pictures. I was alowed to download it onto my computer as well so I now have it too. Its such a good piece of software! I haven't really been on it for a while but from what I remember it was brilliant!
